"Blind-as-a-bat" Mama

This morning I saw pink pajamas and brown hair snuggled in my bed as I was getting ready (glasses still off). I was talking to my child, "Good Morning!" (no response) "Are you still tired? Will you talk to me?" I'm getting angry that no one is talking to me. Then I put my glasses on to discover I was talking to a doll. I realize now how blind I am without glasses!

My mantra for not cleaning:
“Cleaning and scrubbing can wait for tomorrow,
For babies grow up, I’ve learned, to my sorrow.
So quiet down, cobwebs. Dust, go to sleep.
I’m rocking my baby, and babies don’t keep.”

Time for Quilting?
I just listed to a presentation on "Greenology - Using What You Have" at my MOPS group this morning. I challenged myself to find an old, OLD pair of jeans to use in our craft today to make a decorative pin. I found the jeans, cut them up and made the pin. It's so cute, I can't wait to wear it around town! Then I think back to the two boxes of old, OLD jeans that my mother saved for me, hoping I would make jean quilts someday. Maybe that day should be soon. I have more boxes of partially finished quilts that I haven't finished and maybe it's about time to start. The first one to finish is the baby quilt I started one week before I found out I was pregnant. Over six years later, do you think I can finish the baby quilt, now that there are no more babies in the house???

Amazing difference an hour makes
I am allowing myself some facebook time.
I picked up my son from his classroom and he screamed at me for an hour.
I took away his shoes for kicking the car. Then he told me he doesn't like me anymore. Rushed to get Anna from school, but I didn't get the message from the school nurse because I forgot to turn on my cell phone. She had 102*F fever and dad picked her up almost an hour ago. Rushed back home with shoeless son still screaming at me.
Kids grow up so fast, but sometimes not fast enough.

Strange Service Guys
Service Technician: How are you today, Ma'am?
Me: I'm fine, how about you?
ST: Well, I could be honest, but it wouldn't really matter now, would it?
Me: [speechless]
Ten minutes pass and I wonder if I should go check to make sure he hasn't hurt himself in any way.
Later this week . . .

Was lost, but now I'm found
I couldn't figure out how to log onto my settings for the longest time, but now I've figured it out.
My oldest daughter lost her first tooth. Almost 5 years after it made it's first appearance, it has served its purpose and now she has shed it, rendering it completely useless. Just another milestone for a parent (sigh).
